AYAP Advisory Group (AYAP-AG) Terms of Reference

General
AYAP advisory group is a diverse group of distinguished and prominent experts, academics, professionals, and intellectuals that AYAP will consult and seek guidance and advise from, individually and/or collectively. -
02AYAP-AG input will be extremely valuable in guiding AYAP strategies and action planes moving forward towards achieving its goals.

Advisory Role
● To advise AYAP on the overall strategy, direction, and action plans including major works, and projects.
● To consider recommendations and offer advice on a broad range of issues relevant to AYAP work, including research activities, program and projects development, standards, and community services.

Advocacy
● Champion AYAP, advocate its work nationally and internationally by communicating key strategic messages, create awareness for existing and new program initiatives, and showcase AYAP vision, mission, goals, and achievements.

Fundraising
● Advise on fundraising activities and grant applications, including identifying opportunities most relevant to the focus areas of AYAP.

Legal Considerations
● The membership of the advisory group is regulated by the board of trustees.● The group does not hold any legal status or responsibilities under AYAP bylaws nor Canada’s Non-for-profit Corporations Act.
● AYAP is not necessarily bound by the opinions, advice and consultancy provided by the advisory group.
● The group shall not have regular meetings but instead will convene partially or collectively upon request by the board of trustees or the chair of AYAP executive board.
● For every meeting, the group will be given an agenda and a set of objectives. The chair of the executive board of AYAP will chair the group meetings and the AYAP secretary will participate in the meeting.
